Finally I'm employed (at Polytope, pre-launch) doing what I do best and like most - building cljs webapps!
Leaving Opter felt right after 27 months there, not much room to grow either as a software developer or income-wise.
Still, I'm glad I spent what time I did there, and I largely managed to finalize what I had set out to do when starting - sorting out their app! It's the same one I use when I'm doing my passion job as a bike messenger (less and less sadly, I miss it), so it was important to me that it didn't suck ;)
#Live search
You can find it in the nav bar and type away. Based on Typesense, only covering blog posts and comments so far, autocomplete is more of a prototype (will need to build a separate index for that instead of trying to parse things on the fly real mediocre) but intended to expand to entire page, maybe its code, and...
#Docs!
Off Codox, but with a twist. Instead of hosting them separately like intended, and having to manually update some other repo and stuff, I run codox as a build task, put the results in resources, serve from backend as raw text after simply extracting everything in <body> and dump it into my page as innerhtml whoo!
Bit of improving their terribly hardcody css to use flexbox and it flies! Mostly, some kinks to work out still for sure. Good exercise in making stuff do your bidding without having any control of the DOM layout.
Just got hired by Opter, the company making the system and app we use for dispatch at my work at Crosstown as a bike messenger.
Will work there 75% as app developer and 25% continuing as messenger, which will leave me less time for tolgrAVen. But I'm not folding, development will continue! Just at a more sluggish pace.
Have been meaning to write up some of the new stuff I've implemented this spring - there's a lot of it - will see when I get around to it.
Edit way later: quickly turned into 90% and 30% so yeah pretty busy heh
